EXHIBITS

2017

"THE ARTIST'S PROCESS", THE WASHINGTON SOCIETY OF LANDSCAPE PAINTERS, at THE ATHENAEUM, Opens on Thursday, November 2nd 2017 and runs until January 7, 2018. There will be a reception on Sunday, November 5th from 4:00 - 6:00 PM.

This will be an exhibit of small, Plein Air studies by 27 members of the Society. Some studies will be accompanied by the studio painting that was developed from them. Also on view will be some sketchbooks that help illustrate the different ways artists gather information and make decisions before starting a painting. The Athenaeum is located at 201 Prince Street, Alexandria, VA www.nvfaa.org

 

THE WASHINGTON SOCIETY OF LANDSCAPE PAINTERS at THE DELAPLAINE VISUAL ARTS CENTER. This beautiful exhibit of 87 paintings by members of the WSLP opened on Saturday, June 24th and will run until Sunday, July 30th. There is a reception on Saturday July 1st from 3:00 to 5:00 and a talk about the society by its President Bernard Dellario. The talk and Q & A begins at 2:00.

The Washington Society of Landscape Painters has been in existence since 1913 making it one of the oldest and most enduring art clubs in America. The society is limited to only 40 members and I am proud to be one of them. I have four paintings in this exhibit. The Delaplaine is located at 40 S. Carroll Street in historic Frederick, MD. PAINTED WASHINGTON DC at AMERICAN PAINTINGS FINE ART opened on June 3rd and will be on exhibit until September 30th 2017. This is an annual exhibit of paintings of DC as well as the surrounding metropolitan area. The gallery is in a new location across the street from the old one and the address is 5125 MacArthur Blvd. NW, Washington DC

 

THE HISTORIC BLACK AND WHITE EXHIBIT returns to THE SALMAGUNDI CLUB from Monday, February 6th to Thursday, March 2nd. My painting, 'Rain, Lexington Avenue" will be part of this exhibit which has taken place every year since 1878! Works in all media will be presented by Club members using a palette limited to only black and white, no accent colors are allowed. To read more about this interesting show go to www.salmagundi.org. 2016

THE ANNUAL THUMB BOX EXHIBIT AT THE SALMAGUNDI CLUB (47 5th
Avenue at 12th Street NYC) opens on November 24th 2016 and will be on view until January 1st 2017. Billed as “the biggest little show in New York” this is a much loved annual event with a huge selection of paintings no larger than 9x12 inches. A wonderful opportunity to find that special gift! There will be a reception on December 6th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM which is open to the public. Gallery hours Monday – Friday are 1:00 to 6:00 and Saturday/Sunday are 1:00 to 5:00.

"LIBBY'S COVE" AWARDED CERTIFICATE OF MERIT.

 

”SMALL TREASURES 2016” opens at AMERICAN PAINTINGS FINE ART in Washington DC. on Saturday, November 19th and runs until Saturday, January 21st. The gallery is still located on MacArthur Blvd. but has a new home. It is now located at 5125 MacArthur Blvd. Suite 17. Gallery hours are Wednesday to Saturday from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. This is a much loved tradition at American Paintings and we hope you will join us at the reception on Saturday, December 3rd from 5:00 to 7:00 PM!

 

THE AMERICAN ARTIST'S PROFESSIONAL LEAGUE'S 88TH GRAND NATIONAL . This exhibit runs from November to November 18th in the Main Gallery of THE SALMAGUNDI CLUB , NYC. This long running annual event showcases the work of artists from all over the United States. Drawings, paintings and sculpture are included in this very special exhibition and I am happy to have been selected once again to participate in this popular exhibition. There is a reception and awards ceremony on Sunday, November 13th from 12:00 until 5:00. The public is welcome!

 

"WASHINGTON SOCIETY OF LANDSCAPE PAINTERS, THE EXHIBITION" opens at CHASEN GALLERIES, 3554 W. Cary Street, Richmond, VA, on Friday, October 7th and runs until October 28th. There is a reception on Friday, October 7th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. This is the first WSLP exhibit in Richmond and we are very excited to introduce our work to the very active art scene in this city! I will be exhibiting two paintings, “Georgetown” shown here on the left and “Café du Parc” which you can find on my Cityscape page.

 

THE NOBLE NOCTURNE EXHIBIT returns to THE SALMAGUNDI CLUB! The 2016 show opens on May 23rd and continues to June 17th. The exhibit will be in the Lower Gallery of The Club which is located at 47 5th Avenue, NYC. It is open to the public and there is no admission charge.

 

"THE 2016 HISTORIC BLACK AND WHITE EXHIBIT" at THE SALMAGUNDI CLUB, 47 5th Ave. NYC is on view from Monday January 18th to Thursday February 4th, 2016. A reception will be held on Thursday,January 21st from 6:00 to 8:00 and is open to the public. This exhibit has taken place every year since 1878. In the 19th century newspapers and magazines relied on illustrators and many of the nations best were members of the Salmagundi Club. The exhibit began as a showcase for their work. Over the years it expanded to include work in all media but strictly black and white or sepia and white with no color accents allowed.

THE 2015 SALMAGUNDI CLUB FALL AUCTION EXHIBIT will take place in the Main Gallery of the Salmagundi Club, 47 5th Avenue, NYC. The exhibit will run from Monday, October 5th - Friday, October 23rd. I have two paintings on view and they will be auctioned off at two of the three auctions to be held in October.

Please go to www.salmagundi.org and click on the ad on the home page for the Auction Exhibit. You will then find instructions for bidding online, by phone or in person. You can also view all the works available by following the prompts. When you get to the image page click on 14 and 15 for the pages my paintings are on. "WINTER EVENING ON E. STREET" is one of a number of paintings I will have on exhibit at AMERICAN PAINTINGS FINE ART this summer. This is a Washington Society of Landscape Painters exhibit.

 

THE 2015 SALMAGUNDI CLUB SPRING AUCTIONS ARE HERE! The auction exhibit will be on view from March 2nd to March 27th in the main gallery. The live auctions will take place on Friday, March 13th, March 20th and March 27th at 8:00 P.M. There are a number of ways to bid before and during the auctions.

2014

There is a lot happening in November! I will be participating in four shows opening this month and the first is one of my favorite national shows, THE AMERICAN ARTISTS PROFESSIONAL LEAGUE'S 86TH GRAND NATIONAL. I am proud to be participating in this beautiful show for the fourth year in a row. The image to the left is "Leaving the Inlet" which is my entry for this year's exhibit. The show will be held at the Salmagundi Club, 47 5th Ave. NYC from November 10th through November 21st.

There will be an artist's reception on Sunday, November 16th from 1:00 to 2:30. You can view the accepted works in this show at www.americanartistsprofessionalleague.org. The exhibit will be in the Main Gallery and you can find the hours at www.salmagundi.org.

"A PASSION FOR LANDSCAPES" an exhibit of paintings by the WASHINGTON SOCIETY OF LANDSCAPE PAINTERS will open on Friday, November 14th at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda Maryland. I will have two paintings in this show which runs until Friday, January 2nd. There is no reception for this show. Exhibit dates are Wednesday, October 8th to Saturday, November 1st.
A Meet the Artist Reception will be held on Saturday, October 18th from 5:30 to 7:30.

 

This is one of two paintings I have on exhibit in the "NOBLE NOCTURNE" show in the Main Gallery at THE SALMAGUNDI CLUB, 47 5th Ave. NYC. The show opened on July 14th and runs until July 25th. There is an artist reception on Friday evening, July 18th and is followed at 9:00 PM by a nocturne painting demonstration by artist member Anne Kullaf.

THE WASHINGTON SOCIETY OF LANDSCAPE PAINTERS continues the celebration of our centennial year with an exhibit at the River District Arts, Rappahannock Center, Confluent Gallery. The Gallery is located at 3 River Lane, Sperryville, Virginia. The show runs from Saturday, August 3rd through Sunday September 29, 2013. Petoskey is a lovely resort town located right on Lake Michigan. The show is being hosted by the Crooked Tree Arts Center Inc. and approximately 375 artists will be exhibiting at this first Salon Show. I am so happy to be participating! "STORM CLOUDS OVER MORVEN PARK" will be on exhibit in the lobby of the Virginia Tech, Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center in Leesburg Virginia. The painting is for sale and all the proceeds of the sale will go to the Equine Center as an unrestricted gift

LANDSCAPES AND OTHER VISIONS will open Thursday, May 31st at the DENNIS AND PHILLIP RATNER MUSEUM at 10001 Old Georgetown Road, Bethesda, MD.and it will run through Monday June 25th.

The museum hours are Sundays 10:00 AM -4:30 PM and Monday-Thursday 12:00 noon until 4:00 PM. Admission is free.

I will be exhibiting along with eight other landscape painters from Maryland and Virginia.

SOLO EXHIBIT "LAND AND SEA" at AVENUE BEAU SEJOUR GALLERY May 1st to May 26th, 2011. It was a large show with 32 landscapes of the Outer Banks and Northern Virginia. It was a wonderful experience for me!

March 14, 2010, "Minds Wide Open: Virginia Celebrates Women in the Arts". The Virginia Chamber Orchestra will showcase four women in the arts at a special concert at the Ernst Cultural Center at Northern Virginia Community College. I will be the visual artist featured with an exhibit of some of my paintings at the gallery adjoining the concert venue. Read the press release for details here.

HONORABLE MENTIONwas awarded to “The Three Sisters of the Potomac” by juror Steve Munoz (Director of the Lee Arts Center, Arlington VA) at the January All Media Show at the Art League Gallery. Show dates are January 6th through 31st.
